Department of Organization and Student Resource Development, Public Administration Student Association (HMPS-APR) Rembang: The 2025 Basic Student Management Skills Training as a Platform to Equip New Students with Leadership and Organizational Management Skills

Rembang, August 30 – September 20, 2025 – The Department of Organization and Student Resource Development of the Public Administration Student Association (HMPS-APR), Rembang Campus, Universitas Diponegoro, successfully held the 2025 Basic Student Management Skills Training (LKMM-PD) under the theme “The Ares of Inari”. This four-part program was attended by 119 new students.

LKMM-PD aims to equip new students with basic skills in communication, deeper self-potential recognition, critical thinking, and effective self-promotion within student organizations. It also seeks to foster the creation of the best future cadres who understand how to be good leaders.

The series of activities began with the Pre-Phase, featuring material on “Cadre Formation Flow and Trial Simulation” delivered by Speaker 1, Multazam Ar Rosyid, who provided in-depth insights on the importance of cadre formation in organizations and trial simulations as a formal decision-making forum. Then, in Phase 1 two speakers presented materials, Speaker 2, Rashyageis Amor Tiwa, delivered “Self-Potential Analysis: SWOT Analysis”, giving participants an understanding of the importance of recognizing self-potential as a key foundation for both personal and organizational development. Speaker 3, Afdi Bintang Syabana, presented “Introduction to Public Administration”, aimed at encouraging new students to develop enthusiasm and pride in the Public Administration program, especially at PSDKU Rembang.

In Phase 2, Speaker 4, Andi Sanjaya, presented “Critical Thinking & Fundamentals of Communication”, sparking discussions by introducing Tan Malaka’s concept of ‘’Madilog’’ (Materialism, Dialectics, and Logic) as an initial approach to help students understand logical, structured, and reality-based thinking.

The program culminated on D-Day, which, after the series of lectures on public administration, leadership, critical thinking, and communication, served as the peak event. Designed to strengthen collaboration and solidarity among participants, D-Day did not include speakers or classroom sessions. Instead, participants engaged in outdoor activities presented in the form of interactive games—serving as a medium for refreshment, evaluation, and reflection on the values instilled since the beginning of LKMM-PD.

Following the completion of the 2025 LKMM-PD series, the program is expected not to remain merely ceremonial in the cadre formation process but to become a true learning space that leaves a positive mark on all participants. The values of leadership, discipline, self-management, and togetherness instilled throughout the program are hoped to provide a strong foundation for new students to continue growing and advancing in academics, organizations, and social life within society.
